Black Global Network

THE BLACK GLOBAL NETWORK

The Black Global Network is for industry and non-industry professionals, including college students who have a passion to network in the entertainment industry. The co-founders are socially conscious entrepreneurs who are building a network that is truly inclusive. African American, Afro-Caribbean, and African societies have survived and flourished through a kinship network system for them to share resources to have a strong community.

The Black Global Network is where artist and business professionals are able to network and create innovative projects. The network prides itself on its unique ability to build a sense of community in the arts. The Black Global Network provides leadership skills for its members, who will have access to professionals in the entertainment industry to assist with and consult on their projects. Professionals in the industry will provide commentary on the basics of producing a quality resume and increase interview techniques. The network is a mentorship program where seasoned professionals and recent graduates can build relationships and create innovation. College students will be informed of internships and will have access to work for various production companies within the network. Industry professionals that want to expand their experience in creative or business field will be provided the opportunity.

The power of the network is that the members are exposed to information and technology that would take years to learn. Members can learn online or at a networking event. Important information of how to start a production company and how to maintain the business is included. We provide legal assistance that prepares artists by providing legal consulting. The lawyers conduct workshops to explain about copyright law for intellectual property and negotiation skills to survive in the entertainment industry.

The purpose of the Black Global Network is to produce innovative projects in film, video, music, and print. The network consists of directors, producers, writers, publicity, set deign, audio, script supervisors and all the various departments in the film, TV, and print to create positive productions.

The Black Global Network is not responsible for connections. We provide an environment for where the creative can be nurtured and grown organically. The Black Global Network is a place where all dreams can come true in an unifying arts community to produce projects of passion and responsibility.

How do I educate myself?

Read. Talk. Listen. My father used to say God gave me 2 eyes, 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason. Read books about history, the world, people. Read the news. Read about a subject you don't know. Talk to new people from backgrounds outside of your own; from a different ethnicity, gender, socio-economic status, geographical location, age. Listen to more than the words, but to body language and the underlying message. Take it in, decide how it relates to you and how you can use it to move forward. Decide how you can impart your knowledge to others.

Elevation

The only way to elevate yourself is through education. When our knowledge base grows, so does our sense of self. The more we know, the more we understand about ourselves and the the world around us, the better we feel about ourselves. We become empowered to make decisions that benefit our futures.
